dying to get into shape!

Literally dying! I am 36 years old and weigh 275lb's. I spent my entire life living how I wanted, and it seems to have caught up with me. I realized today when I went for a walk for about 2 blocks and got winded, that I am killing myself living like this.

I came home and broke out my bike (2005 Specialized mountain bike ridden 3x /lazy). Cleaned it up, lubed the chain, and aired up the tires. I took it out for about 10 minutes and came home misreable. I really hope you guys can help me out!

My hands were killing me, my entire crotch was numb, and I realized im a softy!!

Anyway I am committed to this for my kids, wife, and for myself. I live about 2 miles from the best mountain bike trails we have, and don't even have the endurance to enjoy them.

ANYWAY here we go. I WILL be 240lbs by June 1, and 210 by Decmeber. Hope to chat with you guys for advise along the jounrey!

Just keep at it.
Rest when you need to.

The more you pedal the stronger you get.

Welcome, I'm working on the same goal. I was you but a little older a year ago.
Go out on the bike every day or so. You'll astonish yourself on how fast you'll acquire a better level of conditioning. What killed you today will be a cakewalk in a week.
