I've been a commuter to school for the past year now when parking got unbearable, but I recently got a road bike to get me there a little quicker than the MB. This site showed up the most on my google searches for maintenance information, and since then I've been using the archives for any info I need; the more I read the more I learn! Right now, I'm working on getting the bike perfect, improving my stamina, and figuring out my personal cadence levels and whatnot.
There's nothing like a "new bike" to motivate improvement.

Welcome to BikeForums!
One piece of advice if you are serious about improving your performance:
Get started on clipless pedals asap! Used with an efficient pedal stroke, they will make you alot faster.

Aye, clipless would be nice, but changing out shoes or walking around with cletes is kind of a hassle. If I were more of a racer instead of a commuter, then hells yeah! However, better-than-stock pedals will be on the list. I just need something that will fit some trainers, or as I learned today, indoor soccer shoes.
