Hello
Hello everybody,
I've never been too serious of a rider, just some occasional trails (though some of them pretty hard-core) and commuting. I would like to change that though.
I moved to Athens, Georgia from the Detroit, Michigan area almost three years ago (came here for graduate school). I didn't know anyone that rode down here until recently. We made plans to go ride some trails and in preparation for that I discovered several cracks in my head tube  You can read my tirade and see a couple of pics in my post on the MTB forum.
They're jacking parking on campus up several hundred percent next year, so I have enough incentive to replace my frame. I'd like to get my hands on a quality steel hardtail and this is my current project.
I have several years experience in bicycle shops. I'm a decent mechanic but never got serious into high end/ custom stuff. I'm sure I'll have some questions about my impending frame replacement and I'm glad I found this forum so I can get some advice.
I'm looking forward to getting back on the trails and being part of this community.
Cheers!
MIjoe

Welcome to the BikeForums.
There are a few Georgia members (Athens and Atlanta ) here, and lots of folks to answer your questions.
Good luck with the rebuilding project.
