The Specs of 2 Schwinn Bikes

2 Schwinn Bikes - I'm partial to the upright riding position of the Comfort Bike but would like the opinion of this forum on which might be a better bike based on the specs. Price is the same for both bikes.

Mountain Bike:
•Shimano 21-speed drive-train with SRAM MRX Pro Grip Shifters for shifting efficiency

(More Specs)
Men's Schwinn Bicycle:
•This Men's Schwinn Bicycle is perfect for on or off-road riding
•Schwinn hand-built trail-tuned steel frame
•Aluminum crown suspension fork provides shock-absorbing comfort
•Front and rear alloy linear pull brakes for sure-stopping power
•Shimano 21-speed drive-train with SRAM MRX Pro Grip Shifters for shifting efficiency
•Schwinn quality sport saddle ensures a comfortable ride

or

Comfort Bike:
•21 speeds with SRAM Grip Shift shifters for easy gear changes

(More Specs)
26'' Men's Schwinn Link Comfort Bike:
•Steel frame features upright geometry for a comfortable riding position
•SR Suntour suspension fork smoothes out bumps
•21 speeds with SRAM Grip Shift shifters for easy gear changes
•Promax alloy linear pull brakes stop precisely
•Rise bar with adjustable stem gives a good view of the road
•Padded saddle & suspension seatpost soften the ride

Get out of the Wal-Mart, dude! Unless 90+% of your riding is 10-12 mph on the MUP once a week, you need more bike.

Well, I will try to answer your question in a more friendly manner.

Not everyone can afford an expensive bike . I don't know your budget, but neither is a GREAT bike. If you just need to exercise or want some pleasure in an occassional bike ride , they will do. If these are what you are looking for, just pick the one that you feel fits you best & has the most comfortable riding position. Not hardly any difference in them.
WalMart Schwinns seem to be the cheapest Schwinns available. They are USUALLY not assembled well AT ALL. I have known people injured while trying to ride their NEW bike ! I had a friend bring a new assembled WalMart bike to me, & it took me almost an hour to get it in good riding condition. Our local Target store sells Schwinns & they have a guy who takes his time & knows what he is doing .
Another alternative, would be to look at used bikes & take a bike knowledgable friend along to help . Sometimes, you can get a great deal on a good quality used bike for less than you pay at the 2 above mentioned stores for a cheaper quality bike. Or, save a little more cash, & look at other brand name bikes, such as Giant, etc.
Good luck !
