Road bike rental in the research triangle

I'll be going home in late June for a week and would like to have a bike to ride. Right now, the options are either flying a bike & pay for the special luggage fee or rent a bike locally. Does anyone know of any good shops from which i can rent a bike?

Thanks,

Jim

I've rented a daily ride from the Bicycle Chain on Glenwood/70. They have multiple locations and, while I rented a mountain bike, they also have road bikes. https://thebicyclechain.com/articles/...emos-pg170.htm

Thanks for the info. On a related note, do you know of any good group rides in the area, preferably without having to pay membership dues?

scrabbler, i just saw your reply. thanks for the suggestion, too. have you happened to have ridden with them? they sound quite serious. while i can handle the A pace, but im not so sure about getting stranded if i encounter a mechanical...

in other news, i found out that AA will charge only $25 one way, to ship a bike. looks like there is an upside to higher luggage fee afterall...
