This reminds me of one of my bikes.

In the mid 70's I had a custom touring bike built by a frame builder in Albany, New York, Phil Fisher. It has a similar extra frame member with stays continuing back. From it was mounted a disc brake. It was basicly a tandem without the extra length and room for another rider.

It was built for long distancing touring with several unusual parts. It could accomdate freewheels of English, Italian, and French treacing. It had canilever brakes and a front suspenion system. Not fashinable for the day, but the bike was GREAT!

Designed for paved and off-road touring it was a forerunner to the mountain bike.

That looks like a picture of a Waterford that was custom made for a basketball player. It just shows that the very short or very tall can ride just as well as the off the rack people like me.

Do you know why? Chicken thigh.

Do you know who? Chicken....nevermind.

It probably is the bike you mentioned, Oscar. I pulled the pic off the Waterford website. Do you think it has extra long crank arms too? I can't tell from the photo.

I know who...chicken shoe!

Moose -

Those crankarms look mighty long, but they can only be so long before they will strike the ground. I'm glad you posted that pic. I've been looking for it ever since I first saw it (but couldn't remember where).

Chicken poo, as my kids say.
