i'm too fat for this sport
i ordered a new bib short from rei- it was closeout at a great price, sugoi icon
i'm 6"1, 175 pounds, 32 inch waist, 34 inseam
i read that sugoi runs small so i ordered a large which the guide said would fit a 34-36 inch waist. when i received them over the weekend i put them on- i could barely fit into them
and felt like a stuffed sausage- up until this time i'd been using my old trek bibs, size
medium, i guess i'm too fat

what stinks is when i ordered them they have a few xl left
now they are all sold out and since the item is discontinued i have to
go with an rs bib which is more money- i ended up buying
some rs bibs on ebay for $110 new, it's the cheapest i've seen
and they're new

The manufacturer should have been a clue. BikeForums offered a jersey for members several years ago. The jerseys were from Sugoi. I wasn't overweight but had to order an XXL and it was a very tight fit.

I am 6' 1" at 170 pounds. I wear XL bib shorts and a Medium Jersey. I don't know who the heck makes the sizes but I am glad I took thier advice at the LBS.

The house brand at Performance fits me (40" waist), but almost no one else does, so I don't indulge much; I have 2 pair that are about 6 years old, wear them rarely, usually just roll street clothes.
So you think you're fat............

It's possible that at 6'1" you're stretching the bibs vertically as well which would make them feel even tighter. If they don't have a larger size to exchange...then this is just the price you pay for closeout shopping. I know what brands fit me well and just have to wait for the deal...waiting....waiting.....

Pretty sh*tty, IMHO, but it happens.
My club used to get their jerseys from a particular well-known vendor, but it seemed they were getting smaller as time went on. Sure enough, the storekeeper pulled out jerseys from each of the last 5 or 6 years, and discovered that the vendor had been cutting the sizes by about a half inch per year - she could lay the jerseys on top of each other and clearly show it. The vendor, or course, denied it; so we went to another vendor.

I ended up returning the bibs last night to REI- love their exchange policy, no hassle
unfortunately i can't wait for another deal-my trek bibs are worn and the pad is flatter than a pancake.
