Long Ride, do I reapply chamois cream?
I am embarking on a long ride 2 weeks from now. 120 miles one day, 80 miles the next. The farthest I have ridden in one shot was 70 miles without resting. We plan on taking a break around mile 60 or so. I was thinking maybe at some point in the ride I should reapply some chamois cream? Anyone have any advice?

I started using chamois butter toward the end of the season last year and liked it. It seems especially helpful on long rides during hot days. For me it seemed to lessen any kind irritation issues.

The trial sized canister of Assos (comes with their shorts) is a perfect size to bring along for a 200 - 400k ride.

I also carry extra sunscreen, and used to keep both items in the same type of Nalgene squeeze bottle. My ride partner asked why my sunscreen bottle says "FACE" on the side. I told her it's so when I'm really tired at 20+ hrs into a ride, I don't mix it up with the one that says "A**", and accidentally smear my face with chamois creme instead of sunscreen. Clear, concise labelling is a must.

I can push 95 miles without reapplying cream but it doesn't sit well with my posterior. It appreciates reapplication around the the 85-90 mile mark. I carry those little tubes of chamois butt'r with me on long rides.

I use udder cream, some heavy sweaters don't agree with the product though.
I like the small tube, easily carried in the jersey pocket and sometimes found for a buck at Walmart.
Had a buddy that carried a baggie with Bagbalm in it for reapp in the later miles.

I haven't yet ridden distances long enough to reapply either, but plan to do so in the future at about 50 miles or so.

+1 on the small packets of Chamois Butt'r. Your LBS may sell them individually.
Reapply as needed.
Just a cautionary note: Do not confuse the Chamois Butt'r packets w/ GU gel packets
