I find it hard to ride without some kind of music in the background. If your like me, what do you listen to? Take out your music player, whatever it may be. Put it into shuffle mode and list the first 5 songs that play. NO CHEATING. First 5 only. If the theme song from Fraggle Rock plays, list it. Maybe we can expand each others musical horizons here...

You can see my entire list of about 250 songs on my own profile in the visitor message section. In the OP of that thread I explain how to do it. My list is very different from what I've seen here; it's Big Band and Rock Golden Oldies, almost all before 1980.

If any of you like Horn bands - the old "Chase" album with "Open up Wide" and others is excellent. Tower of Power also works for me. For beastly hills - nothing compares to "Doobie Brothers - Live at Red Rocks" - to keep up your tempo!

I don't listen when I ride, but when I go running I pretty much listen to Darkest Hour and nothing else. I went through a short Protest the Hero or Every Time I Die phase, but then it was back to Darkest Hour.
By the way...did someone really mention One King Down???? Wow, there's a name I haven't heard in awhile.

They were based out of Albany, which about twenty minutes from where I live. I'm pretty sure I saw them live once, I went to a bunch of shows when I around the time they were big. Favorite though was As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, God Forbid, Shadows Fall, with Mudvayne headlining. Mudvayne was really bad though, we left during their show, with about half the crowd. But man did the rest put on an awesome show. I've never seen a pit reach the soundboard at any show until then.
Taking Back Sunday puts on an awesome show as well, if your into that. I'm into a wide variety of stuff, and can appreciate a wide genre of music, except modern country (my favorite example of this garbage is "we can go slow or we can go faster, you and me on my john deere tractor".) I live surrounded by farms and won't listen to that stuff. Either will my girlfriend who lives on a farm. Lol.
