36.5 mph time trial (spoiler)

german time trial results are in.

covering the 34.5 km course in 35:16 was columbia high road's tony martin. if my math is correct (i say math, but really, i was just lazy and plugged the numbers into my computer), that means he covered the course with an average speed of 36.5 mph! he must have had a tailwind/downhill.

Remember that they are going with all the aero paraphernalia and maybe using a chainwheel with 54T to 60T. Remember thats the average also, so in some places for sure he was over 65 km/h.

Lemond when won the TDF to Fignon in 89' did 34 mph average and the aero stuff was not even similar to the one you have right now.

so there is talk of this on another site, where a second hand source was informed by a participant in the race that the actual distance was 30.4 km on an out and back course.
