good and bad weekeng
what a ride we had on saturday. Me and a riding buddy went to hills around inks lake and rode there. We did 20 miles and had 1440 feet of climbing. Climbing with a 42-50 crank and a 12-25 cassette is not fun. So we finished up the ride and headed back over to Johns house to drop him off and watched a bit of the tdf there. Went home showered and changed clothes and went to the bike shop. Got me a new pair of shoes (specialized bg tahoe ) and some other little things. Then it was off to seaworld. It was packed to the gills so we watched 2 shows and left. Ate at my favorite resturant in SA and came to my mommys house. We ended up doing some to dos on the list and then went and bought a weed eater and used it to cut down cuckle burrs and some ragweed. After I finished ate a bit and really started feeling like crap. Woke up this morning still feeling bad (i called in yesterday and let him know I wasn't going to come in today. I don't know what's wrong but it's miserable.

Have you recovered? What happened?
Climbing with a 42!, That's enough to make anybody sick!

can you be more specific about the feeling like crap? what sort of crapness do you feel i.e. is it lack of energy, motivation. does it hurt anywhere? sometimes if you burst yourself exercising it leaves you with feelings of lethargy and you might think never again etc. but you should come round soon. if its psychological it might be that the cycling gave you such a high that when you stopped you sort of came down?? i know this sort of thing happens when i do a huge hillwalk. feel like crap monday and tuesday but its worth it

I believe that the reason why I really felt like crap was from the Rag weed. I used a weed eater to clear about a half acre of it, and I think it was just a little too much all at once. The hill workout actually did not affect me. I ended up going to SeaWorld in San Antonio and walked all over it that afternoon. I actually like climbing. Part of the Hill work out is the route for the triathlon that I am training for, so I am going to be doing it regular basis.

Half an acre of ragweed and I'd probably die. Yep that could very well be the reason. Next time take a couple Benadryl ahead of starting the work.

+1 to the Benadryl, but also wear a respirator or at least a dust mask. I have terrible allergies and even though I've gotten better medicine than I used to, there's no way I'd tackle ragweed without extra protection.

If ragweed is a huge problem, talk to your doctor, there are a series of shots you can get, the stuff isn't cheap, there are 4 shots, in June you visit your doctor once a week for the shot, then in September-October the ragweed pollen count seems to be more spores per cc of air then nitrogen atoms, it either doesn't bother you at all, or very little. I get the shots about every 3rd year or so, the first year it's no problem, the next couple of years I can control it with pills, then I get the shots the next year, I'm due again next year. I forget the name of the stuff, but your doctor should be able to find it, it's been around for decades.

Ragweed normally does not bother me. It was just such a large amount of it in a short period of time. Once I got some Zyrtec, after taking Benadryl and it not working, it started working and relieving the headache and the congestion. I still need to clear out about an acre of it, so I am going to take the Zyrtec before I start this time. Allergies do not normally bother me, and I am thankful for that.

Go to Lowes, ect. and pick up a dust respirator before you continue the job. Will make things much easier on you.
