Looking through some photos today I realised that it had been a year since I took a self-portrait photo, so here is a new one:

I appears that I am getting old

May have posted in this thread before; too lazy to go back and see. But here's the face that goes with all the dumb crap I say here.

I like this thread. It really is nice to at least partially peel back the anonymity. Might as well fully expose myself... (Don't worry, that's my British ID card, not full frontal or anything.)

My apologies...no excuse for being rude (me being rude,I mean),it had been a very long week, and it seems lately people are just quick to also be (rude),I made a bad assumption and genuinely feel horrid about it,my friend I've never seen the show,I might have to check it out now

Cool pic of your ID,that's something I'd never seen before,a UK ID

Speaking of snow, I've never used disc brakes, they must come in handy… though it looks as if your son is toughing it out with rim brakes

Thank you,my friend They are indeed handy...it's been years since having anything but discs on my mtn bikes (run canti's on my CX,which is a ride-anything bike, and V's on the Xtracycle which is no more, but the V's live on on the new Surly Troll I build up this year with the Xtra's build kit),very nice in cold or wet/muddy weather indeed

That's his old bicycle (a Scott jr20 20"er mini-mtn bike),a month or so after the pics were taken,we bought him his first ever 26" wheeled bike (see below pics from the day we bought it,him riding around the shop floor),a Giant Revel 4 with 15" frame for him to grow into. It also has V brakes (and the wheels aren't disc ready I think),but the frame and the fork are disc ready..when he needs/gets a wheel upgrade down the line,he will also get a brake upgrade to discs
