Panaracer Ribmo too small on old Mavic rims
We have an Ibis Touche from 1994 with Panarcer TOurgard 700x35c on.
After an explosion on the rear tyre we decided to try Panaracer Ribmo 700x32C instead.
It seems to be impossible to get the tyres on the rims: the old Mavic rims are too large for the tyres. What can we do? Which tyres can we use instead?

You might try mounting it on a different rim, then inflate it to the max pressure on the sidewall and leave it for a day to stretch out.
Also, using talcum or baby powder will make it easier to mount the tire.
Also, you should start opposite the valve when mounting a tire Make sure the tire is up in the rim center channel to allow the most clearance when you get to the valve. After seating the tire, make sure the valve is pushed upward in the tire.

It may sound obvious, but make sure that someone didn't double up on the rim tape.

Even on the same rim, I've sometimes had to put it most of the way and leave it overnight. My hands are stronger in the morning, and the tire may have loosened up some.
Some rims and some tires just don't like each other. Others go on easily the first time and come off without tools.
