The thread title should properly be "Where in the USA are the USA members?"

I've paid attention to the fact that Scoot and I have mailed packages back and forth, but he always has me direct mail to his workplace. Think he is nervous that I might take an unannounced trip out there?

I don't think one has to be in the US to put a placemark on the map? I'll try one in England. There's no US-bent here.

I was able to place one in London...The map does default to showing the US though...I don't see a setting for that. But, if you zoom out you'd see non-US placemarks.

Let's not turn this into something it's not please.

I'm hoping we at least get a Canadian or two up there. Points on other continents would be even cooler!

Same here....evidently we have one slight semi-hurt feeling already where there shouldn't be one. Please, other-than-US-folks, make your mark.

^^^ Sign in, get the map up, hit the edit button. Click your entry, click the placeholder icon in the upper right in the balloon that appears over the map....will bring up a menu with a bunch to choose, the bike is one of them, scroll down a bit.

Even if i put the dot on my exact location, most people would still have problems finding me.

After initially placing my marker 200 miles into the Pacific, I figured it out and got it to the entrance of my closest mountain bike mecca.

Dang, it leaves a record of who alters the map.

Just verifying that we can help other members once their post is made.

I see no way to "create" a place marker, in the shape of a bike, drop, or Starship cruiser. I'm signed in to Google.

Then I placed 3 or 4 blue drops, somehow got the drop menu of icons, and it was obliterated by a dropdown menu.

I gave up and had another Yuengling. It's a killer idea, though.

Click "Edit" on the left hand side. Then look for the little blue balloon(?) to leave your mark.

We should realize that it would be bad form to modify another users entry. Unfortunately there isn't a "only edit your own" option...either the map is fully collaborative, or not. I'll forgive Matt for his outstanding pick for me yesterday...

Damn! I am really computer illiterate! I figured it out. If I'm not riding or in my basement, you can find me @ my icon's location, the local tavern. I figured the medical cross would be appropriate for me....

I put the location of a nearby mountain that happens to have the same last name as me. Come on up! The air is, thin.
