2010 Masi Speciale Ultimate collectors fixie bike Thoughts?

My friend is really excited to get this bike...I've heard things about Masi and being built from china now...Anyone got experience with this bike or know anything about it? Looks pretty legit.

That's pretty ugly.

(In my opinion, of course)

Its really awesome parts, and a really nice frame.

Being manufactured in foreign countries isnt a huge deal like a lot people want to say it is. They are designed by experts, and built by manufacturers that know what they are doing.

I ride a Masi. The Speciale frame is very robust, and is basically road geometry, if that is what you want. It gives a comfortable and responsive ride, though I would prefer the lugged version aesthetically.

For the price, however, the Ultimate just does not seem worthwhile. The parts are not bad - but they are not what I would choose if I started with a frame. Likewise, the frame itself is not the best bike for the dollar at that price point.

Masi is not Masi...they Schwinn'd out. They're still nice bikes though, just a bit overpriced. I think they're pretty. I was talking about the display frame my LBS had and silently facepalmed when he told me that it was English threaded...they're not what they used to be. At all.

Masi is just a name; it has no connection to the Italian Masi company or family, despite the "Masi Milano" logo and "Faliero Masi" signature decals.

I wish they offered better colors.
I'd pick up a MASI.
Until I start seeing better colors, and especially a better selection of framesets, I'll pass

great bike. not worth 3/4 what they ask for it though.

get some insane collab with sugino grand mighty's and some insane mavic wheels and then i'll be tempted.

otherwise, it's just a colorful giant.

Italy - hard ch
France - soft ch

Which is why Miche is mee-kay and Michelin is meesh-ay-lin
