Chain pops off when i coast

Hey all of a sudden when i ride and coast the chain pops off then after I pedal twice its back on. The crankset also moves with the bike if i push it as you would see on a fixed gear bike. Please help this is my only means on transportaion. Its a 2010 surly crosscheck

EDIT: when i push the pedals backward the rear delrailer gets pulled forward.

Gummed up lubricant in freehub stopping the freewheel pawls from releasing.. Try to free with a bit of spray lubricant (not WD-40), into the freehub, but not into the rear wheel bearings.

My plastic spoke protector broke and when I coasted it would turn the cassette causing a dropped chain. The fix--rip off the plastice spoke protector.
