SHORT Connecting Wires

Albeit I am new to the ebikes venue I got my first nine continent hub from C9.
A front hub and someone heavy (25 lbs) but I was surprised at the what I view is a short connecting wire! It's only about 3 feet and whether it's on my older Raleigh bike or the newer Globe ( both stepthroughs) the wiring harness does not reach the controller. Maybe its me but after dishing out 400.00 bucks I expect to have a harness I can use and not have to pass more $$ for an extension for a "normal" bike !!! I don't know if this size harness is normal for all makes or whether its a peculiarity of Nine Continents but be advised. Premeasure your bike so that at time or ordering you can discuss it with your supplier.
