square taper BB, crank, frame fit?
If a certain square-taper BB works fine with a certain crankset on one frame, will that same combination work equally well on any other frame?
In other words, if I take a working sq-taper bb/crankset combo off one frame, can I expect it to work on another? Or does the frame itself have an effect?

are both same width of chain line and chainstay? and British 68 wide shells and cable runs similar..
[a bike with over the bb cable run has a FD bottom contact with a 50t ring, but not a 52.]

Same British standard BB, same cable routing. Brand new frame has not yet been built up. Width of chain line? Will be using same standard 10-speed Shimano cassette. So if I understand you correctly, the only thing that could throw me off is if the new chainstay is significantly wider or more radically curved outward than the old? Which could be a problem if the chainwheels get too close to the chainstays? The new chainstays appear to be about 2mm wider than the old. I think I'm OK. Thanks.
