i checked KCNC listed @ eBay and it's a staggering $124.

anyone here tried TAT CNC Aluminium Seatpost Ultralight 33.9mm Folding listed @ eBay for $39. but only drawback is it's in China. so that kinda made me think twice.

https://cgi.ebay.com/TAT-CNC-Aluminiu...#ht_1719wt_902

thanks,
vic

Wow. Looks potentially very good. . . you'd have to consider that it's inline and whether that'll suit your saddle positioning. I'd be tempted to risk it.

I don't get why sellers such as that who post internationally don't appear in my ebay searches.

Edit: they do if I search title and description for some reason.

There's this as well:

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KCNC-Lite-Wing...item2c54766a97

Which actually is not much lighter than the other seat post if you account for the length.

KCNC and TAT look exactly the same and yet price difference between the two seatposts is $90. i think i will go with TAT. risk is quite high on KCNC.

and yes I do have a Carbon seatpost ..its on my personal 20 aniversary Helios SL and will stay on that bike ..lol

The Carbonlite Seatpost weighs 485 grams, 23 inches long ( 580 mm)
the other weights are on the page ... more or less ...

thor
p.s. the reason why the carbon seatpost doesnt exist anymore is simple.. if it gets pushed in and pulled out on a daily basis it will get ugly scratches on it. Folks complaint about that and wanted new ones every half a year .... that killed it .... unfortunately it was a stunning piece.

It's times like this I'm glad all my folders have 27.2mm seatposts. You big guys might need the extra stiffness of larger tubing, but I certainly don't.

When I first started riding I never understood why people were so picky and wouldn't ride folders. Now I understand that once you get used to having your bike a certain way that's how you want to keep it...except I'm used to my folders and am too picky to ride diamond frames!

UPDATE:

was able to contact a friend of mine who's in china for business and he's willing to get me this 33.9mm x 600mm seatpost and bring it home:

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=5197038781

total cost plus shipping $15.20. the only drawback is they only have the gold color. for that price i think it's ok. i will let you all know how's the quality as soon as i have them.

by the way there is a dahon kinetix comp on that site and the cost is $22 only. hmm i am having second thought and might ask him for this also. as a back up rim.
