Hi,

I am trying to adjust my front derailleur. When in the big ring, there is not enough space on the outside of the chain to eliminate rub. I have the high limit screw backed out all the way so that it's not even touching the derailleur body.

Do I need to reinstall the crankset? It is a bb30 SRAM Force crankset and Force derailleur. It looks like there is no more room for the crank to move inward.

You might need to have a bit more tension on the derailleur cable.

Remember that in order to move the FD onto the biggest chainring, the cable has to exert a pulling force. Not enough force, derailleur will not move enough.

The steel cables do stretch over time and lose tension, so retensioning the derailleur cable is a pretty common thing that needs to be done occasionally.

Can you move the derailleur cage by hand to shift to the big ring? If so, the problem is cable tension, not derailleur travel. If not, contact SRAM since there is no adjustment with those built in crank spindles.

Thanks for the tips.

I can shift to the big ring with the shifter, but once it's there, there is chain rub. I feel if i could move it out 1 mm everything would be fine. I will check cable tension when I get home but I feel that it is pretty darn tight.
