Negative Feedback on E-bay

I came across this while checking feedbacks on a seller before making a purchase. Thought you guys might find it amusing.

Chain was too long, required a chain popper to acheive desired size
Buyer: stsandman1 ( Feedback Score Of 8 )

Reply by the_bikesmiths (Dec-10-09 14:11):
ALL CHAINS NEED TO BE CUT TO SPECIFIC BIKE SIZE. THIS IS STANDARD.

It needed a chain popper !
(Thanks for the forewarning on that user name. I'm probably safe though, or at least I don't have any "petals" up for sale at the moment.)

Some people should need a license to give feedback. I go the opposite route and unless the thing is really bad leave 5 stars for everything because leaving negative (or even neutral) feedback is a hassle.

Notify the buyer that they have to return the extra chain for their $0.07 per link deposit.

I recently had my first negative feedback from a buyer, who had a ZERO feedback score (dumb on me, I need to block new buyers). Feedback was out of nowhere, ridiculous. I also had a neutral score, from a buyer, based on shipping time. Buyer complained that it took way too long to get his purchase (it took a whopping seven calendar days from completion of auction to actual delivery of package, half way across the USA by the way). Oh, and I should mention that the post office tried to deliver the package earlier, but the guy's paypal address was garbage.....

The system is so tilted to buyers. The good news on the one above is any potential future bidder with a brain will recognize this feedback as being from an idiot. Its when you get flamed with no recourse that it really hurts.

I'll have to file negative feedback on my last purchase - the tubes I bought didn't come with air in them!

Thanks for that - I just copy/pasted it into my blocked bidder's list.

Thanks, Happy to see I am not on the list.

Velosite811 is interesting, he has a number of "handles" he has used in the past. Once or twice I figured it was the negative feedback he was piling up from selling. Another time I think it was from there possibly being a sales count where ebay treats one as a seller differently. Anyone can comment on this, does too many transactions over a period of time cause ebay to want a seller to "upgrade"?

Now, now, maybe it was a Campagnolo Record 11 Speed chain... just giving the guy the benefit of the doubt.
