Newbie from Houston
Hi,
I commute about 30 miles round trip up to four days a week--usually at least two. Average speed is 16-18 mph. I live downtown and work in an outlying office park, Greenspoint. My main bike is a Bike Friday Pocket Rocket Pro (Ultegra), but I'm working to upgrade my single-speed bike. I think I prefer the single speed for commuting. Other bikes are an old Schwinn Homegrown (hand-me-down from my son) and a Bike Friday tandem my sweetheart and I take out from time to time. My current favorite bike shop is Urban Bicycle Gallery in Houston. Commuting isn't big in Houston, but there are a lot of recreational cyclists, many of whom ride the 2-day, 180-mile MS150 fundraiser each April from Houston to Austin.
Thanks.
Warm regards,
Dusty M
