Hi this is a 62cm Miyata frame. I am not familiar with ins and outs of these - is it any good and what is it worth

Miyata 512, mid-80s.... proprietary butted splined tubing. That model was mid-range geared towards triathlon participants.... see decals on chain-stay. Nice frame, had one that was too small for me, sold it (frame, fork, headset) to a BF member for 120$ or so.

Does it come with a fork? Check the top tube cable cut outs for possible cracks. Looks like this one is missing the plastic grommets that go into those cut outs as well. Unless it has more parts not shown, I would not give much for this particular frame.

He wants a 100.00 no fork....I'm in no hurry and this is not quite what I was looking for

price seems about right. but if i were you i'd pass... finding a fork is a pain.

+1 regrading wrk101's comments on the internal cable routing. Also, the missing fork also increases the possibility that the frame has been crashed. If you decide to pursue the matter, carefully inspect the area immediately behind the headlugs for cracks in the paint and ripples in the metal itself. Avoid a frame with any actual ripples or other visual distoration of the metal iteslf. Cracked paint is signs of a crash, but provided there are signs of metal distortion the frame is sound, though it may require alignment. Finding a fork is not a big deal, unless you absolutely have to have an OEM fork.

Miyata's were very nice well made bikes. But yours has no fork, a big problem. But they are 1 steerer tubes, thus here is a fork that could work: https://www.excelsports.com/main.asp?...endorCode=GIOS
If the frame and paint is in good shape and if you have components, or the seller has the components to put on without having to go out and spend a mint to buy them on E-Bay then it may be worth it. Other wise I wouldn't bother because by the time you buy components and a fork you'll have way more then the bike is worth into it and not be worth a lot due to the lack of original parts.

If you're in no hurry, find a donor bike first, you may hit the jackpot on a headset and fork. Paint the fork white, sell the rest of the donor bike.

That's a good idea, problem is someone else may need a donor bike as well and may be eye balling that one for it. I have a weird attitude: if ain't there when I can get it, then it wasn't meant to be.

I have most of the bits for drivetrain but do not have headset/bars/seat/seat post.

I do have new Open Pros laced to Centaur hubs and a 10 speed Campy Centaur/Veloce derailleurs, crankset and Record shifters.

Just waiting for the right nice frame to pop up

The seat post is an odd size, I think it's a 26.7? But Nitto stills carry a seat post in that size, and probably one or two other companies. Or you can go on E-Bay and find NOS and some NIB posts in that size. But Nitto products are probably the best.
