New bike needed - I have two potions

I am thinking about a new bike. It will be used for commuting. I have two options:

https://www.parkersofbolton.co.uk/p-1...xie-cycle.aspx

https://www.parkersofbolton.co.uk/p-1...-14-speed.aspx

I know that they might be crappy ones...But i would like to read your opinions

Thanks

I knew from reading the thread title that there would be some worthwhile posts in here. And I was not disappointed.

OP, if those were my only two choices, I would pick the road bike because it's cheaper AND has more gears. Both are atrociously heavy though (12.5/12.75kg i.e. 27.5/28lbs? no thank you), so I'd probably look to buy a lighter budget bike or a nice used one instead.

I think poison ivy has more mitten-like leaves... I could be wrong though.

Always take the red.
