cross the United States, February to May
Hi,
I'm planning a bicycle tour through the United States.
I start on February 23, 2011 in Miami.
The tour will be over in Los Angeles 90 days later.
That would be the 22 May 2011. Then I want to go to Japan and then to Russia.
The route is not fixed yet. But I want to go to New Orleans.
I go on bicycle about 20 km / h and 100km per day.
I take a tent and much further luggage.
Would like someone to accompany a portion of the track?
I would be grateful to tent a night in your garden.
Yours sincerely,
Jonas from Lübeck, Germany.

Sounds like a good plan you've got there. The weather will likely be pretty much in your favor. For free overnight accomodations with fellow cyclists, check out www.warmshowers.org. You do have to register as a potential host in Germany. Another site to check out is www.couchsurfers.com. More for non cycling tourist looking to stay a few days in one place.
Edit: This list of potential overnight spots might help, if any on your route.
