Bike Tire Size - Can you help?

I was asked by a friend in Cuba to bring down either a Tire or an Innertube and he wrote down the specs, but I don't quite understand them. Can you tell me if this is correct?:

Goma de Bicicleta "vee rubber" (I believe it's Spanish for Bike Tire)
700 - 38
38 - 622
Delante

1 - goma
2 - camara (inner tube?)

I just want to make sure I get it right the first time. Thanks!

If he is a friend take both, tire and tube. The tube will be cheap. Your looking for size 700 x 38. The tube size does not need to be quite that specific. Tube sizes often cover a range of sizes. A 700 x 35 tube will work as well.

The other set of numbers are: 622 is bead seat diameter and the 38 is tire width. Some manufactures like Continental sometimes use 28x1 3/4 with the 38-622 so if you are unsure about any tire size the BCD is you best measurement.

Camara = chamber. I would assume this means an inner tube. The question is what kind of valve (shrader or presta). If he doesn't know, take two of each.

I would suggest you also take him a patch kit. It might help extend the life all his tubes.

I think he's asking for 1 tire and 2 inner tubes. The tire size is 700c x 38 which is the same thing as 38-622. He might just be asking for 1 of each but I'm sure he'll appreciate an extra tube.

38 is not a very common size but 37 is common on hybrids and commuters and will fit on his bike.

Cámara de aire = inner tube
