Need a good fitter, Los Angeles area
Hey guys, just got a new bike and since i purchased it online i wanted to get a good fitment done. Anyone know of a good shop that does good fittings? I'm in the Burbank area but i'm willing to drive if i have too. Thanks

Jim Manton at FinalFit. You'll have to drive into Huntington Beach and it will cost you $250 for his Retul fit but you can rest assured you got the best fit possible. He's done over 7000 fittings. Check out his Web page or Facebook page.

I had a fit from Kenji, who works with Jim and had a great experience. Worth the drive out to see them.

Certain bikes. Specialized and Felt. I don't think he can get Cannondale or Cervelo. He's been in the business for years and has contacts to get the bikes. You can save around 20% on a $2500+ bike plus no sales tax which can be another $200.

No sales tax on a Specialized or Felt? How do you do that? Are you sure? Specialized is a California company out of Morgan Hill and Felt is out of Irvine.

I think he is qouting out of context. If you read the fine print on the finalfit site, it states may be no sales taxes but dependant on other factors. Something else that has not been mentioned is you get your fit for free if you purchase your bike thru finalfit (also on the site). But seems the OP already bought his bike.

"1Out-of-state sales are subject to manufacturer guidelines - some manufacturers do not allow out-of-state sales. In such cases, we have many local dealers as part of our network who happily provide discounted pricing to our clients; however, state and local taxes will apply. In the case of out-of-state purchases, clients are responsible for Ca. State Use Tax."
I think the presumption is that only clients of finalfit do the deal on any new bike purchases and the other presumption is that clients are residents of California. Why would anyone use finalfit who is not a California resident? Their last sentence says it all, there is sales tax after all. No sales tax savings here. Finalfit should just get rid of their statement to clear things up.
