hi

Hi. I received an e mail which said that I should post an introduction in this forum. My name is nik. I am from ohio, in the united states. I am currently going to school in ohio, studying to earn degrees in education, and early and middle childhood development. I feel that I have a notable amount of knowledge regarding bicycle maintenance; and I maintain my own bicycle. I view bicycling as a responsible method of transportation and as a means to effect positive personal and social change. I am in to things like scraper bikes https://vimeo.com/9702393; pedals for progress https://www.p4p.org; et cetera ...

I am originally from columbus. I grew up, personally facing homelessness and poverty.... I really respect the ability of a bicycle to bring a person out of poverty and give them hope and a chance. If it were not for a bicycle, I am not sure what my life would be like today.

In columbus: I regularly, daily commuted roughly ninety kilometers. I commute about half, or less, now; but recently I have been starting to go on longer trips and regularly bike about one hundred and sixty kilometers back to columbus to visit my brother and some friends.

I am currently working on starting a community, nonprofit bicycle center. I joined this web site, in part, because I want to have some where I can come to ask questions about any thing regarding bicycles. Around where I am going to school: there are few persons that are both actively interested in commuting by bike and possess the catalog of knowledge which I seek. Alternately: there are many persons, and maybe I will be able to connect with them through this web site. I look forward to meeting any other members as well! If you want to talk, message me on here. Thanks!
