freewheel hub with crank and pedals? do they make one?
in other words... a unicycle but it has a free wheel..... do they make one?
i dont want the whole unicycle just the wheel and hub you can attach a crank and pedals to.....

Schlumph makes something like this, I think. I think it's only 2 speeds.
I think what you really need is a Shimano Integer front freewheel crankset, they came on some old Bike Boom Schwinns. They got kind of a bad rap because they were paired with the Positron "indexed" derailleur but it was actually kind of a neat concept. I keep wanting to build a bike that can use one but they take a bigger cup like you use on a Ashtabula bottom bracket.
You might have to end up having to fab your own custom hub.

I think so. I got a Mongoose kids trike (pics in the costume thread)- straightaxle in back, and rear wheel steering. The front wheel drive is strange- the pedals turn and only grab the wheel sometimes. It might be one of those old 2 speed kickback hubs; so it would coast if it is. The disk brake is on the back axle.

They are very hard to find. Coker used to make a 36" pennyfarthing (highwheeler) with a freewheeling front hub. They used a sort of "one-way" bearing to freewheel, not an actual ratcheting mechanism, and therefore they don't last very long. I've never seen anybody offer one for commercial sale, but if you do a search for "freewheel unicycle" you'll find a few threads on it. If you find one for sale, let me know, I'm wanting to build my own pennyfarthing with one.

sorry, i just post at work now so i'm just seeing this again. but no, the only way i know of is to find a green machine at a thrift store, flea market or something. maybe craigslist?

In the Past a Shimano attempt, Positron .. front freewheel crankset BB combo.
You don't freewheel on a Unicycle .. it is the original fixed gear.
there is a planetary gear ratio change in those unicycle hubs
direct and overdrive, but no freewheel.
site says a 24" wheel, in the high range, acts like a 36" wheel, for cruising speeds.
