Maybe not strange things, but things that I know for a fact that OTHERS have found on my commute route in the past week:
1) A faceplate for a Timex HRM watch
2) An early 90's vintage rear blinkie, with approx 50% of the mounting bracket still attached to it.

I found a can opener yesterday. I could not get back to it though. Looked like it would have worked fine.

Strangest thing I ever found while riding was a dead body of a man.
Apparently he was running due to the jogging suit, suffered a heart attack and collapsed then fell down an embankment where cars could not see him from the road, but I could riding on the shoulder. He had been dead for several hours before I found him. I wasn't sure when I first saw him if he was dead so I approached off the bike and yelled at him but no response, so I touched him and he felt cold, not breathing, no pulse, and was staring blankly, so I followed my steps out so in case he was killed the scene would be undisturbed as much as possible and flagged a car down who called 911.

I guess I didn't really find it myself... But I did happen upon the Police pulling a body out of the river one morning. I rolled buy just as they were starting to pull him out. I read the news when I got to work and it looks like I passed by 10-15 minutes after the 911 call came in.... 0_o

I found a roll of quarters on the ride home yesterday. Does anyone else pick up random change too? Or am I the only tightwad?

A completely nude woman, strolling down the street in the same direction that I was rolling, walking as if she was sure she had clothes on. It was early, so nearly no traffic out. Very odd.

Was she at least wearing shoes? There can be some pretty nasty sharp rocks and broken glass in the street/sidewalk.

In the past two weeks, I've found the following...
1) A Crescent wrench.
2) A girls ID card (haven't been able to find her to give it back).
3) A HTC touchscreen phone - with a ran over battery. Gave me a new 4gb micro sd card though!
4) A left crank arm with a pedal still on it. (no sign of the right arm or other pedal lol).

Cycle Year Round
This morning - Side view mirror laying in the bike lane that had been ripped off a car.
I wish I knew the story behind how it got there (second hand of course).

I found an iphone in the wet street yesterday, it had not been run over yet and a cute Kate Spade case had protected it well from the rain. I was rewarded $27 for delivering it to the owners husband. Everybody was happy and the sun came out for the first time in four days.

Good thing you didn't collect. Looks like an alligator snapper from the pictures, it may have collected one of your fingers for the trouble.

A pair of (ice) hockey goalie sticks in someone's garbage. Bungie'd 'em to the bike and proceeded carefully home; fortunately not too much further.

Since i first started reading this thread i've been looking and today i finally saw something. A Monarch Butterfly, haven't seen one in many years and i thought it was odd sitting on the edge of the road at this time of year but i didn't want to bother it.
P.S. Turns out it may be less odd my coworkers tell me they are thick this year. Apparently i don't pay attention so good.

2 separate zip lock baggies with pb&j sandwiches in them this morning, someone must have left them on their roof and they came off in the curve, lol

After reading this, I am now sad that my morning commute is now in the dark (my return home tends to be the short route).
