Squeaky Pedals

I bought a bike last year with Shimano M505 pedals, and they are squeaky as heck. I took the bike to the LBS for service under warranty, and they sprayed oil on the pedal and shoes, but that only worked for about 10 miles of riding.

Any advise?

Lightly oil the threads.

Wow--I had assumed the squeak was from the shoe/pedal interface. I've never had a pedal squeak because of the threads.

I'll try spraying it with silicone tonight.

Put different pedals on and see if it was in fact the pedals,
grease goes on the threads by which the pedal is attached to the crank.
You take off the pedals (1 RH thread 1 LH) , grease the threads
[ Bike shop purchased bike that should have been done]

If they sprayed something on the pedals/shoes and that worked for ten miles, then that is where the problem lies. I don't guess that you have a second pair of shoes to try?
Maybe a different lube than what they used (instead of WD40???) would work better.
Making sure the pedal axle threads are greased is a good idea but not likely your problem.
