Hey Everyone,

I'm new to this forum stuff, just wanted to introduce myself. Male age 31, married with a newborn in the house(3-1/2 old boy). Live in FL, like all watersports as well, escpecially windsurfing and sailing. I've loved bikes for as long as I remember. Started racing BMX at age 11, worked in a bike shop in High School, I started mountain biking in college and got my wife into it, and we now go riding every chance we get. (which hasn't been very much at all lately.) I ride a full-suspn. Specialized FSR, tricked out with mostly Race Face comps. Wife rides a Cannondale Raven. We do a lot of riding in Ocala and Belleview which are about 2.5 hours away, and we try to go to North Carolina or North Georgia for vacations and long weekends. Like I said, wanted to say hi.

Believe it or not, there are actually pretty good places to ride in Florida. Unfortunately most of them are about 2 hours from where I live. The closest decent place to ride is about 45 minutes away, and it's a small loop that follows a small creek. It's really not that bad, just real sandy and I've ridden it so much it's pretty boring. There are a couple real good trails in the central part of FL. Near Ocala about 30 minutes south of Gainesville(HOME OF THE FLORIDA GATORS). There are also some pretty good trails outside of Tallahassee (Home of the FSU Criminals, oops,I mean Seminoles). We've got a pretty competative racing series down here that goes all over the state. I heard of a good trail in SE Florida, but I've never been there. Mostly Ocala,(Hardrock & Reddick Trails) & Bellview(Santos Trail).

hey i am from florida as well!!

I live in Jax, FL and there are lots of trails here...my favorites are the ones not at state parks that have been here for years and done up by locals...although construction is taking some of those away now...

if anybody wants good technical riding then ride in florida...i think we have some of the best.

I cant wait to experience the trails here. I used to live in tallahassee and there are some really nice trails up there, Tom brown was nice just becuase it was so close to town.

Race in Gainesville

Ben,

I wanted to let you know of an upcoming race in G-Ville on March 3rd. I'm supposed to go out of state on a business trip, but that may get cancelled. If I don't go, I'm planning on going to the race. I'll keep you posted.

I'm not sure exactly where the race is, but I'm sure any of the shops in town would know.

BTW, do you ever go to Burrito Bros? Man I jonesing for a double-wrapped combo with onions and hot peppers. I used to eat there at least once a week when I was in school (BCN '93).

Later Gator!
