Bike Friendlyness on Oregon Coast
Just did a mini bike excursion and found some great stuff for tourists. For those doing the Pacific coast, there's a bus that will carry you your bike from PDX to the coast for only $10!
Also we stayed at a nice new bike friendly hostel in Rockaway Beach.
Enjoy!

In the right lane
That state park you stayed at on the last night is glorious.
One question: did you do much riding on the coastal highway? Very pretty, but no shoulder. How did you find traffic?

I've ridden that route. The shoulder on that part of Highway 101 varies from quite wide to almost non-existent. I rode it on Memorial Day weekend, and traffic wasn't bad at all. Mostly, you have to watch out for the bus-sized RVs driven by people who are used to driving small cars!

the riding isn't the greatest...traffic thins out south of Lincoln city. It really surprises us how popular the route is and how terrible the actual riding is!
