Back on the Bike, at last!

Last month I fractured my arm and haven't been on the bike since. Today I took my first ride since the accident. My sister, my son and I rented bikes in Central Park, NYC. No discomfort at all, just the thrill of riding again. We had so much fun!

Did you really ride in the flip-flops?

Yes, I did, Bev. This weekend, my son gave us a walking tour over most of Manhattan, literally miles and miles! My feet are covered in blisters, and by today, the only thing I could wear were flip-flops!

Lookin' good!
Rumor has it that Lance is planning to return to the TDF next year and will be riding a bike just like that!

Have fun and be reasonably careful.

You kid, but as the owner of a succession of TREKs, I took it as good sign the vendor was leasing TREKS! Funny thing happened, shortly after this ride, I got a text from my son in Philadelphia, informing me that HE just got a text from one of his buddies that read, "I just saw your mom ride by me on a bike in Central Park!" Small world!

That's why I've taken to wearing a gorilla suit whenever I'm away from home.

Great news. I'd hate to see anyone lose the whole summer's riding to an injury. That would just plain suck.

Good for you. I can relate since my wife and I did fifteen miles last weekend 7 weeks after she broke her shoulder. She was grinning ear to ear the whole time. Which arm did you break?
