Thanks Jeff! The ol' girl has been neglected and needed a makeover and TLC.
Been sick since Xmas. There's an epidemic of flu and Valley Fever in PHX. So I turned to wrenching while my health returns.

A quick (ok, not so quick) 8 mile ride on... 29:41, the Trouble Maker, this is the 81 Takara that I fixed up for my son Nils, and this, dragged ME back into cycling and wrenching on them. The bike actually felt pretty fast, but I gave blood yesterday, it was windy, and I was wearing jeans...and the bike is a good bit too small for me. I could adjust the saddle, get a longer stem, better tires....no wait...I have 3 I ride already....
Had to give it a once-over and shakedown ride, it may be going off to collage! Someone I know is looking for a bike for their daughter...not TOO nice, but solid... tail end of the bike boom, stem shifters, "Dual Position Safety Brakes", not a bad ride, a High-10 steel, lugged frame, pretty snappy geometry. Takara, made in Kansas City (well, assembled from Japanese built components-Kawamura built)

Fireworks and Latin America; what a great combo!. This guy represents the old year, and they are found, tonight, all over the Yucatán, at least. They are loaded with fireworks, and at midnight they are set on fire. My wife and I spent a New Year's Eve in Guatemala City one year, to catch a plane the next morning. We woke up at midnight to what sounded like a monster thunderstorm, with heavy rain hitting a tin roof. It went on for 45 minutes or so.

Thanks Vansmack! Your 87 Sirrus has a great color scheme. Very pretty! It's in good condition, glad you kept it. When you're finished restoring it, do post pics of the bike in one of the bike pics threads: Classic rides, Post you bike, etc.
I was given a 89 54cm Sirrus frame long ago, but the paint was bad. I thought the construction was very good. Tange No. 1 tubing was what Specialized was using.
