Lately i've noticed some nosies while riding my Mercian. I didn't think much of them, just figured I needed to do some basic drivetrain maintenance. In the process of wiping the chain, I was shocked by what I found.
3 of the 5 bolts and spacers in the granny ring were gone. 5 of the 5 large ring bolts were very, very, very loose. I've been riding 50-60 miles per week, mostly on my Mercian. Holy cow.

Pho is one of my favourite foods and meals, for less than most fast food you can get a delicious and healthy bowl of hearty soup. I am surrounded by excellent noodle houses where I live in Canada but there are less pho joints here in Portland and some I have went to have not impressed me.
It is also a fairly easy dish to make.

I haven't - but then wouldn't really know what I was looking for. A lot of people hunt for it but, from what I understand, most of it is on private property these days.

It's the week of the Dutchess County Fair! I finally was able to earn a blue ribbon finish, as well as a Best of Show, for my hops vine this year

Thats great YoKev!! Congratulations. You a brewer? My son was telling me that he was growing his own hops this year. His homemade brews are very good. In fact, one came in the mail for me today from him.

That's sweet - I was kind of hoping it was the Team Z jersey - since my last name starts with Z

After the big wildfire last week I've been clearing (parking) out around my guest house/RV trailer. The local, seemingly tame, critters like the freshly cut vegetation.

this should be suitable for my 5,000th post. Latest iteration of my Raleigh Portage which is my go to daily commuter. Excuse the crank which is temporary. I'm looking for a 165 length single as anything longer gets crazy pedal strike!
anyhow, new Soma Porteur rack and different bars. I had an MTB bar ont here before but I wanted to try something with a different wrist/hand angle. The soma rack is great because it allows you to run front panniers while still using the top part of the rack.
the rack will allow me to carry home all the weird shaped and large boxes i often get delivered to me at work! Its nice because it mounts to the axles instead of just the dropouts. More info here:
