Are there paved bike paths in Canmore and Banff suitable for training wheels?
Hi All, I am wondering if anyone here would know if there are paved bike trails in Canmore and Banff? I will have 4 kids with me between 12 and 5. The five year old still has training wheels. Are there paved bike trails that we could use in Canmore or Banff that would be fun to ride, or have a fun destination? We will be there Sept 9, 10 and 11.
If you have any other ideas of what to do with kids in Canmore or Banff I would be interested to hear them too.
Thanks.

Yes there are. With pretty good pavement in my opinion as they were created for athletes training for cross-country skiing. There is also one going from Canmore to Banff if you feel like doing about 25-30kms.
I hope this helps, also enjoy !

I read somewhere that the trail isn't complete between canmore and banff, the site mentioned a 2km section that is not complete. Do you know anything about that?

Well between Canmore and the beginning of the trail near the Park Gate, there is a gap within which you have to ride on a narrow overpass against traffic (westbound). I'm guessing that would be a safety no-no with 4 children. They're still wondering what to do with that.

Thanks JeanSeb, we will be riding around Canmore and Banff today and tomorrow. Unfortunately we won't be riding from Canmore to Banff, hopefully they get that figured out. I think we will rent a trail-a-bike so the little on one training wheels wheels won't hold up the older kids.

So the five year old wouldn't ride a trail-a-bike so she rode her little bike with 12" wheels. We parked accross the street fromt the Inns of Banff and rode the Banff Legacy trail to Cascade Ponds and spent the afternoon there. The weather was great yesterday. Thanks again.
