Tektro Oryx cantis - How do I lube them?
I decided it was time to pull the canti brakes off my LHT and do some cleaning and lubing. I got everything off and cleaned the parts and canti studs.
I can easily grease the studs and put everything together, but it appears that the inner sleeve (that goes on the canti stud) rotates within the brake assembly, and should be lubed. Is that right? If so how? It doesn't appear to come apart. I could drip some oil in there, but that doesn't seem like it would last long, and I don't want oil weeping out and getting on the rims and pads.
Suggestions?

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

One drop of oil or grease thinned with mineral spirits or naphtha so it wicks in. The solvent evaporates leaving the oil in place. Wipe off excess so it stays clean.
Unless you do lots of rain riding, you only need do this once or twice a year.

This bike gets ridden in rain, snow, dirt, mud, gravel, whatever. I've put 5800 miles on it since I bought it (new) in January 2010. Yeah, it was time for some brake maintenance.

I haven't tried this with the Tektros yet, but with many Shimano and Avid brakes the washer can be pried off the inner sleeve so the brake can be disassembled. For my commuting bike, I then drilled grease-injection ports in the brake arms, a la the classic Tri-Align cantis. I give them a fresh shot of grease a few times a year.

I'm not going to drill them, as I intend to replace them with high-profile cantis later, when I have some money.
