My "Centuryish" Sunday ride

Yesterday I did 81 miles along the southern Maine coast. Had wanted to go for a 100 miler but my wife was concerned about me going so far and having to drive to get to me should I have a problem. I told her I would just take a "long" ride.
Average speed was 13 mph. Left at 9:30 in the morning and got home at 4:50 in the afternoon.

Absolutely! Except for the part where I foolishly took the advice of the Eastern Trail sign for bikes which led me totally out of the way and somewhat lost for a short period of time. Particularly liked the pizza stop at Old Orchard Beach. Sad to see everything closing up for the winter though.

I agree, some pictures would tell more of a story.

The southern coast is not as dramatic as further down east but still has its own charm and fun to ride long flat stretches with marshland.

historic houses:

empty roads:

and still places to get pizza (Until Oct. 12)

I guess a pizza pie qualifies as a pie. That looks like a magnificent place to ride.
