I am trying to find a source for the clip platforms that clip into clipless pedals.
Just in case this sounds a bit obscure, I am looking for these things that snap into a SPD-style clipless pedal and then permit a rider to wear regular shoes (i.e. no cleats) but still have the advantage of the over-the-toe clip.
Anyone know of a source for these puppies.

Try a tri store. If you do a google for stores and websites that specialize in triathlon gear, you might have some luck.

I assume you mean toe-clip adaptors?

BTW, I've used those adapters and they're ok but they flex a lot and offer nowhere near the stability of real metal toe-clip pedals. However, if you just want to use them for tooling around town in sneakers then they work fine. Just don't expect them to be comfortable for any kind of performance cycling. You might also want to check out the Winwood Decksters if you're not interested in the clips and straps and just want a platform. These are actually made of metal and feel much more stable.

You mean like these:
No need for an adapter, it's SPD on one side, and platform that's cage-compatible on the other.

Are those Shimanos? I think I've seen them at one of my favorite local shops. I see what ya mean. I could fix toe clips onto those pedals. But then when using clipless, I'd be scraping the clips whenever I lean low through a turn. Hmmm. Thanks for the suggestion!
I like these Winwood Instep Pedal Inserts for Shimano SPD (thanks to catatonic!). They've got clips on them and can be removed after any use.

I just keep an inexpensive pair of plastic platform pedals around.
They spin on almost as fast as anything that would clip in and
probably do a superior job. They'll also take old fashioned clips
and straps. DanO
