what year schwinn?

hi im trying to find out what year my schwinn bike is i hope im posting this in the rite spot the serial is under the decal in the front and it is 5100514 and here are some pics if that helps as well its a schwinn starlet

ya it is just in rough shape needs work thanks for the site but i could not find anything there all them had letters and the one on mine is all numbers

There will be four numbers on that head badge, first three are the day of the year, last one is the year. So 0907 would be the 90th day of 67, 77, or 87. Knowing the right decade comes from knowing the era of the bike.

Now I do not know how far that date coding process was used at Schwinn. I typically have bikes from the 1970s and 1980s, they all had them.

wow i did not know that thank u i found that number its 1725 if u or someone can tell me what it is by that it would be awesome thanks
