looking for advice on bike cleanup
Greetings all. On 16 October at San Dieguito United Methodist Church
(https://encinitaschurch.com/outreach-...2011-projects/)
I am scheduled to lead a project I call "extreme makeover, bicycle edition," to rehab donated bicycles for the local Community Resource Center. Kids' bikes will go into the annual "Christmas basket" program; each adult bike will either be used by clients for transportation or sold to raise operating capital.
My crew includes a few "master mechanics" and a much larger number of "spit-and-polishers," who will be responsible for making the bikes look as good/new as possible. Since my expertise lies more in the function than the aesthetic area, I am wide open to suggestions on cleaning and restoring paint, chrome, aluminum, tires, etc.
