P1,P1 2005 and P2 bikes/starting out

I've wanted to get into doing jumping and trialing for a while now and me and a mate are finally looking into getting ourselves a decent starting bike and going for it.
My friend works at evanscycles so we want to purchase a bike there.
Im currently looking at the specialised P1, P1 2005 and P2 bikes but wanted some advice on these bikes.....also just general advice for people starting out

I friend of mine the the freeride club @ Va Tech rides a P1. he does some trials stuff with it, but mainly urban. I would say its a good bike to start on, but I myself have never riden one.

Bikes: Specialized P1

I have a P1 and I'm putting a road cassette on because I want to go faster. If I had to do it over I'd have waited for a P2. I'd go for the P1 if you're only going dirt jumping.

Bikes: specialized p.1, redline single x

i ride a p.1 and it can stand up to general dirt jumping and urban, but if your looking into trials riding you might want to go with the p.2
