Sturmey Archer Lights , dating info and replacement bulbs
Looking at pics of SA lights, I see : a Less bullet shaped headlight, glass lense?, switch on bottom
A more bullet shaped headlight, plastic lense?, switch on bottom.
Then others, with switch on top ,if that all makes sense ? just wondered what year range for each design ?
Also, any place to get the correct bulbs that work well with the Dynohub ?

No help on the dating, but you can get LED replacement bulbs that work with Dynohubs:

You've got the chronological order correct, but I couldn't tell you an exact date for each transition. My general impression is that the hemispherical (vs. bullet-shaped) headlights were done by the end of the '50s.
As for lamps:
If all you want is the same old incandescent it came with, you can pick one up at many hardware stores (my local Lowe's has them). If not, you can order them from this guy in the UK. The Gentleman Cyclist LED linked above is also a good option; they're getting hard to find elsewhere, but google around for "Terralux TLE-1S." And here's a much-cheaper-but-much-less-bright version. For the taillight, there's this excellent version that includes a built-in standlight, but they don't ship to North America, so if you're over here you'll need a European friend to help you get it. It's great, though -- I really wish something similar were available for the headlight.
LED technology is changing fast, so keep an eye out for new products -- what you're looking for is a 10mm screw base, which is known as "E10" in most of the world and "MES" in the UK.

www.reflectalight.com has vacum, halogen & krypt. bulbs to fit.

I just got a pair of LED's in the mail from the Gentleman Cyclist and went out riding on a nice Halloween night. The bulbs work quite well with the SA Dynohub, like that strobe affect too
