Hello from the UK (North West)
Another returning biker here - In my youth (rather more years ago than I care to think) I cycled everywhere - holidays to the north of Scotland, right round Ireland - glorious times.
But then like so many others I just stopped.
A few years ago I had a go at getting back into cycling but for some reason it never worked, BUT this time it will - I've bought a Giant CRS3 hybrid, done a few miles on it over the last week or two and found this site - very inspiring - so taking the advice on the 50+ forum I'll be doing my best to ride frequently and build up to some reasonable distances.
Main off-putting factor so far - the volume of traffic on the roads near me

Welcome to Bike Forums Bartonflyer.
I use a mirror and a Dinnotte taillight for traffic riding.

Hi there, welcome. Just joined myself and a new cyclist to boot!
Quite a few from the UK here I think.
Used to live in the NW myself, wish I'd taken up cycling then as it seems it would be a lot of fun with Wales not far away!
Enjoy!
