Hello, New to the addiction

Hello from Thibodaux, Louisiana!!! I am just getting Bike fever and I am starting to save a $1 for every mile I ride, so I can buy me a new bike. I really like the Hybirds for the kind of riding I currently do. I want to spend between 400-$600. Can yall point out some bikes to look into? I want to be ready when I have enough money.
Thanks Jared!

Welcome Jared.
I like the Jamis Coda series. They're in your price range.
When you get a chance stop by the Southeast Regional subforum and tell the locals all about yourself. And post pics of your bike too.

Thanks for the info RonH. Give yall alittle info about myself, I am Married with 4 kids. I just made 33 3 days ago. I wanted to get into riding for excersie, and ride with a buddy of mine. My buddy Jeff got hit by a car last July while riding his bike to work. So I wanted to get into it with him when he recovered. I will try to keep up with him this time.
i find that when I ride I feel like a kid again.

Howdy, drop by a few bike shops tell them
your budget and the type of riding you want
to do. Ask if you can test ride some bikes.

Be sure and check out the Raleigh Cadet series. Awesome bikes and they're in your price range.

Agree with others here -- go to a good bike shop and test ride a few bikes. There are some good bikes in that range, you have alot of options. I have a Trek 7.3fx that was $650 and i love it.

This is a very nice bike that falls right in the middle of your price range and a lot of bike for the money. Of course I am a little partial to Motobecanes. And before everyone goes off on me, I realise Motobecane is no longer in business and these aren't the Motos of old, but still a great bike.

Or this Schwinn and save $100 over the Moto, both great bikes in my opinion.

Another option would be EBAY or CL, some really good deals from people that decided it wasn't for them and selling barely used bikes.

I am looking around at everybike on the net and bike shops. I eyes are on the Moto cafe late white, or spend the money and get a Trek fx 7.4. But I have some time to lookk around. I am saving up a $1 for every mile I ride on my current bike. I am at 107, so I need about 400 more miles before I buy. I have been sick for the past week so I am behind on my miles, I would like to avg. 200miles a month. Thanks for the help, Please keep the info comming. I am open to any bike at this time that is like a Hybird. Here is an pic. of my ride currently.

That Moto is a great looking bike, and at $399 it's hard to beat. I especially like it in white, very classy look.
