Thinking about turning this into a single speed
Its an '81 Fuji Royal. Your thoughts?

Its funny you say that cause it really is a beautiful old bike. I just want a single speed, striped down bike with bullhorns or straight bars and nothing else. And maybe a double cog on the rear so I can swap it around and learn to ride fixed gear.

I probably wouldn't touch it. If you find another one with a wasted rear wheel, or missing rear derailer or something, then yeah.

Don't do it. Just buy an off the rack or find a retro frame if you're hell bent on building one up. That bike looks beautiful, and the "weight savings" touted by conversion are negligible.
