How to ID old bike

I found an old tandem bike that needs alot of work that I am looking for tips on how determine the maker and age. the badge markings are all worn off. It has a C28 serial number and the badge is rounded at the top and straigt on the bootom. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks DRS.

Bikes: Too many! Santana tandems and triplet; MTBs; touring bikes

You really need to post some photos, of the whole bike, the badge in question, and any other unusual characteristics. If it's really old, also ask over in the Classic and Vintage forum.
