Porteur racks for mtb telescopic forks

the rack that i like the best is made by soma- but not for mtbs. it's wide and deep
and you can get a fence for it- but you can't bolt it to the brake braze-ons (telescopic fork).
it does have horizontal rails underneath for small panniers!

i've looked at old man mountain (too narrow) and their mounting system is great.

i would like to carry a 20lb bag of charcoal or 10 frozen pizzas, a 10lb bag of potatoes,
a milk crate, etc.

any suggestions?

thanks, rodney

Hire a custom fabrication job, have a replacement fork/porteur rack made as a pair, together..
by a constructeur, if you will..
that is the roots of those racks, fast delivery bikes, (without suspension forks)
hauling bundles of the morning/ daily paper from the printer loading docks
to the sales agents on the streets all over the major French cities.
the geometry is different for heavy front loads, too

It is much better to carry your load on the suspended element of the fork. The wheel will then bounce up and down but your load remains flat.

German made Tout Terrain has a special fork, reversed,
so lower stanchion tubes move within Upper fork-crown..
they use a custom modified pannier set
but the price is one where Generous Trust Funds come in handy.

Tubus Swing, offers a Pannier rack .. It uses a fork crown mount clamp on fitting,
And a brace that attaches above the top of the headset, But,
that will interfere with the load area , of your Porteur theme rack.

I don't think you can buy, off the shelf, what you want.
you need a custom build project.
