Need a 24 inch frame for best fit.. 60 c to c or 60 c to top

Early 80s Trek 720 touring 24 inch.

What, you don't like Volares?

I did not set out to collect vintage Schwinns and I'm actually trying to avoid it, but they keep falling in my lap. I have five of them.

1973 World Voyageur
1977 Volare
1981 Voyageur 11.8
1988 Voyageur
1990 Paramount OS

Wow Colonel...I had a Chrome Voyageur 11.8 when I worked at a shop. Schwinn was blowing them out to the dealers before the new models came out. They wanted $200 to the dealer. Honestly. I forgot about the Volare..Now I have to check that one out!!!

Just looked it up Colonel...wow. I need another Orange Schwinn!! Haven't seen many Volares. forgot all about that one.

Not that many, but they seem to appear from no where to me as well. Current ones:
73' P13
76' P14
77' Volare
84' Le Tour
and previously owned another 73' P13 and a 86' Peloton that I did ride for a brief period of time. Those were just riders as I have probably had another 30+ Schwinns pass through my hands over the years.

yeah. i hear ya. I never chose to have three schwinns from the same era...but he got me jones'in for a Volare now. Would settle for a Orange 81 superior.

How about a Schwinn 71 Sports Tourer, orange. Mega gear in back, 54/36 chain wheel. Did i say it was Orange? 24 inch frame.

You know, if you move sideways about 4', that lap problem will take care of itself.

This is a 1974 Schwinn Paramount, 58 cm, that is in wonderful condition. All vintage Campagnolo components (I mean everything, including pedals) except for the freewheel. The stock freewheel back in 1974 was not Campagnolo, so it has been updated with a Shimano Deore, which works perfectly with this bike and is better than the stock freewheel.

This bike was refurbished by Cycle Art in San Diego, which specializes in vintage restorations. They sourced all original Campagnolo components to put the bike back into factory condition. They also sourced period Schwinn decals and repainted/sealed the frame. The restoration job itself cost more than $1,000. The bike was tuned recently by Back Alley Bikes in Chapel Hill. New tape, etc. I bought this bike to ride, and I just never do. It should go to a loving home.

71 sports tourer is cool. I only buy bikes that are fairly clean and paint is in good condition. I know where there is a very very clean blue one for 240. thinking bout picking it up.

Do they measure those schwinns center to top of top tube..or center to top of seat tube that is taller.?

I posted that Paramount on the CL thread, asking to be saved from buying it. Didn't work. The bike came home with me tonight....

It's very nice to look at. No ride yet. To be correct it needs an RD and high flange hubs.

On Monday June 6, 2011 I received an e-mail from a guy named Dave A, who sold a 27" World Voyageur.
The inquiry was a feeble attempt to facilitate this bike for you at the time. Then it sold and I never thought about it till now. 27" was not offered in the catalog and they don't come around to often I imagine. I know I'm dense but this one's pretty funny.

BTW the Competition GS didnt come with Campy 3-Arm. They're T.A. units. Nothing wrong with the T.A. but don't think somebody's pulling a fast one on you when you find yours.

Yes, the "GS" stands for Gran Sport, since it had mostly Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport components. I had one, it had all Campagnolo NGS except the Weinmann sidepull brakes and levers.
